As a sales assistant at Cheese && More by Henri Willig in Trier, you’ll be working in an international retail environment where you’ll introduce visitors to premium Dutch cheese. You’ll advise customers, organise tastings and, together with your team, ensure the shop is welcoming and well-maintained. In this role, you’ll mainly work on Sundays and occasionally on Saturdays, making this an ideal part-time role alongside your studies or other commitments. 

 

In this sales role, you’ll be a true brand ambassador. You’ll be responsible for product presentation and the customer experience, and will drive sales through expert advice and storytelling. You’ll contribute to our brand’s reputation and ensure that our visitors enjoy a premium shopping experience that reflects our core values.

What will you be doing as a sales assistant?

In this role, you’ll ensure that customers don’t just buy a product, but enjoy a complete cheese experience.

  • You’ll advise customers proactively and with a focus on sales, ensuring they leave the shop with the right products and feeling satisfied.
  • You’ll present the product range and the company with enthusiasm through storytelling and let customers sample our premium cheeses.
  • You’ll help keep the shop tidy and attractive by carrying out cleaning tasks and ensuring displays are well-maintained.
  • You restock shelves and handle till duties, prepare parcels and cut or block cheese for the tasting tables.
  • You’ll bring the cheese experience to life in the shop and, if you wish, can contribute to promotional content on our social media.

This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with international visitors and who thrive on personal customer interaction.

What we’re looking for in you

We are looking for a sales colleague for whom hospitality and a sense of responsibility come naturally.

  • You are enthusiastic and customer-focused, and proactively engage with guests to discuss our company and our premium cheese products.
  • You have a good command of English and German; knowledge of other languages is an advantage in this international retail environment in Heidelberg.
  • You live in Trier or within approximately 30 minutes’ travel time of the shop.
  • You are physically fit, as you will be on your feet a lot and actively engaged throughout your working day.
  • Experience in the hospitality, tourism or retail sectors is an advantage, but not essential.

The role is suitable for both those starting out and candidates with experience in sales or hospitality who wish to work in an international setting.
