Would you like to inspire your team, coach them and together create an unforgettable experience for visitors from all over the world? Then this opportunity is for you! For the Catharina Hoeve at the Zaanse Schans in Zaandam, we are looking for a driven Assistant Store Manager.

In this position, you will work closely with the Store Managers and manage a team of about 50 enthusiastic colleagues. You will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere and ensure the smooth operational running of the shop.

We are preferably looking for someone who can be deployed full-time during the high season. Due to the busy period, we expect holidays to be planned outside the high season (April-September) as much as possible.

What will you do

  • Leading the team and ensuring a positive and motivating working atmosphere.
  • Coordinating work and ensuring optimal staffing levels.
  • Coaching and training employees in sales skills and customer experience.
  • Actively participating in the shop, advising customers and setting an example in sales.
  • Providing demonstrations of the cheese-making craft in several languages.
  • Monitoring and promoting the unique concept of the Catharina Hoeve.
  • Managing the stock and carrying out administrative tasks such as personnel planning.

Who are you:

  • Experienced executive with a background in Retail, Hospitality or Tourism.
  • Passion for Retail and Tourism and a strong sense of customer experience and sales.
  • A real team player and coach: you know how to enthuse and stimulate employees.
  • Flexibly deployable, also on weekends and holidays.
  • Language skills: excellent command of Dutch and English; additional languages are an advantage (or willing to learn them).
