Would you like to inspire, advise and introduce visitors from all over the world to our delicious, artisanally and sustainably prepared cheeses? Come work as a sales assistant in our beautiful cheese farm.
The family business Henri Willig is all about hospitality, inspiration and quality products, made with respect for people, animals and nature. Our people make the difference in this. In our Henri Willig Cheesefarm in Volendam and Katwoude, we receive our visitors in our typical old Dutch farmhouse. You are at least weekly one weekend day available (alternating between Saturday and Sunday) and during the week you can also work flexibly1 or 2 days/parts of the day. During holidays, of course, always more. Ideal as a 2nd job or part-time job / holiday job or student job for pupils and students.

What will you do as a sales assistant in Amsterdam
In this role, you will ensure that every customer feels welcome and leaves the shop with a smile.
- You will advise customers proactively and sales-oriented about our cheeses and related products, so that they make a choice that suits their taste.
- You will tell the story behind our family business and the product range and let customers taste cheese, thus contributing to a real experience in the shop.
- You perform cleaning tasks and keep the shop tidy, so that the appearance fits an authentic Dutch farm shop.
- You replenish the shelves and ensure that products are attractively presented.
- You open and close the shop according to the applicable procedures, contributing to a safe and organised working environment.
This position suits candidates who like to be active, get energy from customer contact and enjoy working in an international retail environment.
What will you bring as a salesperson in our traditional farm shop
You bring enthusiasm and feel responsible for every customer's experience.
- You preferably have experience in hospitality or retail and know what hospitality means, but even without experience, you are welcome and we will teach you the trade.
- You have an affinity with tourism and enjoy letting visitors experience a piece of the Netherlands in an old Dutch outfit.
- You have an excellent command of the English language; knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish, Italian, French or German is a plus in our shops.
- You are customer-oriented, proactive and see for yourself what needs to be done on the shop floor.
- You have good communication skills, are flexible and take responsibility for your work.
- You are physically fit and have no problem standing a lot and being active.
- You are available at weekends every week and are also flexibly available on 1-2 weekdays or half-days.
The role is suitable for a part-time job or students and scholars who want to combine work with their studies and develop in sales, hospitality and international customer service.

- You will receive a competitive salary between €2,660 and €3,224 gross per month based on full-time employment, in accordance with the collective labour agreement for the food industry, including travel allowance and 50% Sunday allowance.

- You follow an extensive induction programme so that you start with knowledge of our products and working methods.

These employment conditions are in line with the level of a part-time retail position within the food industry and offer stability and development opportunities.
What do you earn as a student?
For pupils and students we apply fixed gross hourly wages in accordance with the collective labour agreement for food products including 25.3% surcharge.

Henri Willig is a fast-growing, independent livestock farmer, cheese producer, retailer and exporter that has been successful in the exclusive cheese segment since 1974. Henri Willig has a strong position in the national and international market for Dutch cheese and organic cheese specialities. The total organisation comprises a livestock farm, 2 cheese dairies, 39 shops, a Grand Cafe and a webshop.

Frequently asked questions
You will work part-time between 8 and 24 hours per week. You are available weekly on weekends and also flexibly available on 1-2 weekdays or half-days. You can work more hours during holidays.
You will work in Henri Willig's farm shop in Volendam and/or Katwoude.
You advise customers sales-wise, tell the story of the company and its range, taste cheese, replenish shelves, keep the shop clean and open or close the shop. You make sure customers get a real Dutch experience.
The gross hourly wage including 25.3 per cent allowance is age-related and ranges from €5.85 for 13 to 15-year-olds to €18.43 for 21-year-olds. A 50 per cent supplement applies on Sundays.
You must have an excellent command of the English language. Additional languages such as Spanish, Italian, French or German are a plus.
