As a part-time sales assistant in our Henri Willig Cheese Farm Stores and Cheese & More by Henri Willig shops in Amsterdam, you will work in an authentic shop environment in the city centre, advising international visitors and presenting a typical Dutch product. In our Henri Willig shops in the heart of Amsterdam, our guests imagine themselves in a typical old Dutch farmhouse or in a modern cheese delicatessen shop. With several branches, many of which are located in the centre of Amsterdam, thousands of customers are served every day. Our Henri Willig shops are open almost every day of the year so our staff are flexible (including most public holidays). We are looking for colleagues for our various Cheese Farm Stores in Amsterdam. For this vacancy, you will be weekly on weekends available and flexible 2-3 days/days during the week.
What will you do as a sales assistant in Amsterdam
In this role, you will ensure that every customer feels welcome and leaves the shop with a smile.
You will proactively and sales-wise advise customers on our cheeses and related products so that they make a choice that suits their tastes.
You will tell the story behind our family business and product range and let customers taste cheese, thus contributing to a real experience in the shop.
You carry out cleaning tasks and keep the shop tidy, so that the appearance fits an authentic Dutch farm shop.
You replenish the shelves and make sure products are attractively presented.
You will open and close the shop according to current procedures, contributing to a safe and organised working environment.
This position suits candidates who like to be active, get energy from customer contact and enjoy working in an international retail environment.
What will you bring with you as a salesperson in our traditional cheese shop
You bring enthusiasm and feel responsible for every customer's experience.
You preferably have experience in hospitality or retail and know what hospitality means, but even without experience you are welcome and we will teach you the trade.
You have an affinity with tourism and enjoy letting visitors experience a piece of the Netherlands in an old Dutch outfit.
Your command of the English language is excellent; knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish, Italian, French or Turkish is a plus in our shops in Amsterdam.
You are customer-oriented, proactive and see for yourself what needs to be done on the shop floor.
You have good communication skills, are flexible and take responsibility for your work.
You are physically fit and have no problem standing a lot and being active.
You are available on weekends every week and are also flexible on 1-2 weekdays or half-days.
The role is suitable for a part-time job or students and scholars who want to combine work with their studies and develop in sales, hospitality and international customer service.

For pupils and students we have fixed gross hourly wages including 25.3% surcharge.
