Are you following a BOL course in the hospitality industry? Like Assistant Hospitality (level 1), Catering Assistant (level 2) or Independent Working Host/Hostess (level 3)? As a BOL intern in catering at Grand Café Henri Willig in Giethoorn, you will gain practical experience in a busy and hospitable catering establishment. You will work in the middle of a tourist environment and learn how to receive guests professionally, serve them and offer a complete hospitality experience. The internship is suitable for hospitality students at level 1, 2 or 3 and connects to various learning objectives within the hospitality study programme. the internship is also possible in combination with a part-time job.

You will work in a dynamic working environment where you will cooperate with an enthusiastic team and have daily contact with both Dutch and international guests. Depending on your level of education, you will grow in responsibility and develop your skills in service, guest experience and cooperation.

What will you do

During this internship, you will actively work in the service and support the team in daily catering activities.

  • You will support simple tasks such as setting and clearing tables (level 1).
  • You will help serve food and drinks and learn the basics of service (level 1).
  • You receive and guide guests and take orders (level 2).
  • You serve dishes and work with the cash register system (level 2).
  • You will ensure a neat and welcoming appearance of the Grand Café (level 2).
  • You independently run a quarter and advise guests on dishes and products (level 3).
  • You support colleagues and think about service and guest experience (level 3).
