Sales Assistant at Henri Willig, South Holland (student job/school leaver role/part-time job)

In this role, you’ll ensure that every customer feels welcome and leaves the shop with a smile.

• You’ll proactively and sales-focusedly advise customers on our cheeses and related products, so they can make a choice that suits their taste.
• You’ll share the story behind our family business and our product range, and offer customers cheese tastings, thereby helping to create a genuine in-store experience.
• You’ll carry out cleaning tasks and keep the shop tidy, ensuring it has the look and feel of an authentic Dutch farm shop.
• You restock the shelves and ensure that products are attractively displayed.
• You open and close the shop in accordance with the applicable procedures, thereby helping to maintain a safe and organised working environment.

You’re enthusiastic and take responsibility for every customer’s experience.

• Ideally, you’ll have experience in the hospitality or retail sector and understand what hospitality means, but even without experience you’re welcome to join us and we’ll train you in the role.
• You have an affinity for tourism and enjoy helping visitors experience a bit of the Netherlands whilst dressed in traditional Dutch costume.
• You have an excellent command of Dutch and English; knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish, Italian or French is a plus in our shops.
• You are customer-focused, proactive and can identify what needs to be done on the shop floor.
• You have good communication skills, are flexible and take responsibility for your work.
• You are physically fit and don’t mind standing for long periods or being on the move.
• You are available every weekend and can also be deployed flexibly on 1–2 weekdays or half-days.

• You will receive a competitive salary of between €2,860 and €3,305 gross per month on a full-time basis, in accordance with the collective labour agreement for the food industry, excluding travel expenses and a 50 per cent Sunday allowance.
• You will work alongside dedicated colleagues and meet visitors from all over the world every day.
• You will undergo a comprehensive induction programme so that you can start with a solid understanding of our products and working methods.
• You’ll be given personal responsibility and the freedom to contribute ideas for improvements in the shop.
• You’ll have opportunities for career progression and can develop your skills through the Henri Willig Academy.
• You’ll have the prospect of a permanent position if your performance is satisfactory.
