As a clogmaker in Volendam, you will work in a tourist environment where you will take visitors from all over the world into the craft of traditional wooden clogs. You will combine demonstrations in the clog-making factory de Vriendschap with work in the traditional cheese shop of the Alida Hoeve and contribute to a unique experience for tourists and locals alike. You can work flexibly at weekends on Saturdays and Sundays.

You will join a close-knit team at the Alida Hoeve, where craftsmanship and hospitality come together. Within this international working environment, you will have the opportunity to learn the craft from experienced colleagues and develop yourself, even if you have no experience yet.

What will you do as a Clogmaker

In this versatile role, you will combine demonstrations, tours and shop work within a tourist setting.

  • You will tell the story of cheese to groups of visitors in preferably several languages, so that they get to know the products and the brand better.
  • You give demonstrations of traditional clog making and explain this process clearly to groups, contributing to the on-site experience.
  • You perform cash register duties and assist customers with purchases in the shop.
  • You ensure a neat and tidy working environment by performing cleaning tasks and contributing to the appearance of the clog shop.
  • You will restock shelves and support the sales team as needed to keep the shop running smoothly.

What do you bring as a clogmaker

This role requires flexibility, language skills and a practical attitude.

  • You have a good command of Dutch and English and preferably have knowledge of additional languages such as German, French or Spanish.
  • You are customer-oriented, proactive and enjoy working in a team.
  • You have good interpersonal skills and a flexible attitude with a sense of responsibility.
  • You are willing to do physical work and work with tools and traditional machines.
  • You are available on Saturdays and possibly flexible on other days.

For pupils and students we have fixed gross hourly wages in accordance with the CLA Foodstuffs including 25.3% surcharge.
