Just like your colleagues, you’ll love working with the team every day to inspire our visitors and introduce them to our delicious cheeses and delicatessen products. Henri Willig’s shops and farms have become a household name in the Netherlands. For our largest cheese farm shop, Amsterdams Kaashuis, we are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager.
Through ‘storytelling’, we share the wonderful story of our family business and the craft of cheese-making to our visitors. Our visitors leave leave with a smile on their faces and a new experience under their belt!
What are you going to do?
- You are the face of our cheese experience and you embody this. You work in a traditional farm cheese shop wearing traditional Old Dutch clothing. Together with your team, you ensure our guests have a wonderful time in the shop and you help with all other shop duties, thereby creating a sense of ‘we’ within the shop.
- You coach, support and inspire your team members so that they can get the best out of themselves and continue to develop within the team and the company.
- You encourage your team members to take on tasks and responsibilities so that the shop runs smoothly even in your absence.
- Together with the store manager, you ensure that all (administrative) shop processes run smoothly.
- By carrying out the above tasks with dedication, your team will achieve results that both you and the company can be proud of!
What are you bringing?
- has experience in a similar assistant managerial role, which also involves some administrative tasks, or wishes to progress into such a role
- has excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible attitude, a strong sense of responsibility and a constructive critical eye.
- is able to coach, develop, inspire and delegate, and knows how to create a positive, energetic environment in which all team members will go the extra mile for one another.
- is passionate about retail and/or the hospitality industry
- has a commercial eye, is creative and, thanks to their analytical mindset, makes the necessary decisions and knows how to implement improvements.
- speaks excellent Dutch (or is learning it) and English (an additional foreign language is an advantage).
- is willing to work regularly at weekends.
What we offer
- An excellent, competitive salary in line with the Food Industry Collective Labour Agreement, €2,907&–€3,493 gross monthly salary based on a 40-hour week, including an 8% advance payment allowance. 50% Sunday bonus and travel allowance.

About Henri Willig
Henri Willig is a rapidly growing, independent livestock farmer, cheese producer, retailer and exporter that has been successful in the premium cheese segment since 1974. Henri Willig holds a strong position in the national and international markets for Dutch cheese and organic cheese specialities. The organisation as a whole comprises a livestock farm, two cheese dairies, 39 shops, a Grand Café and an online shop.
